At Hampton Family Practice, we are fortunate to employ three excellent nurse practitioners. Sharon Upright, Davenna McGlone, and Sonia Singh offer exceptional medical care to our patient family. Listed below are some of the reasons we believe nurse practitioners play an important role in today's family medical practice.
- Nurse practitioners offer additional appointments to patients during our busiest times. Sometimes, as physicians, we simply cannot meet the immediate appointment demands of our patients. This is especially true during certain periods like cold and flu season. We don't want you to wait for an appointment to take care of these acute concerns. Our nurse practitioners allow us to offer more appointments and give you immediate treatment so you recover quickly.
- Nurse practitioners work with the physicians to meet your on-going medical needs. Because our nurse practitioners work along side the physician and understands your medical history, they can offer appointments, monitor follow-up testing, renew a prescription, or discuss any concerns you may have about your on-going medical care.
- Many patients prefer seeing a nurse practitioner. Each nurse practitioner brings her own personal approach to medical care and often patients prefer seeing one of the practitioners for some or all of their medical care.
- Nurse practitioners bring with them a special interest in health education and wellness. For many patients, nurse practitioners are an excellent resource for information about lifestyle changes including nutrition, exercise, and managing problems like high blood pressure or diabetes.
